Analytics

We use two analytics services. Cloudflare Web Analytics is cookieless and does not identify you across sites. Google Analytics 4 sets first-party cookies (_ga, _ga_*) and records the pages you view, an approximate location derived from your IP address, your device type and your browser. We use it only to understand which pages are useful. Google Analytics data is kept for 14 months.

You can block analytics cookies in your browser, or install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on; the site works either way. We do not use analytics to identify you personally. Your choice is stored in your browser’s local storage (not in a cookie) and is asked again after six months; rejecting means the Google Analytics script is never loaded.

The tools

The goal matcher and constitution quiz both run in your browser. What you pick is not sent to us, and nothing you select is stored on our side.

Contact form

Our contact form does not send anything by itself: it opens your own email app with our address filled in. Nothing leaves your device until you press send there. We then receive only what you choose to send — your name, email address and message — and use it only to reply. We do not add you to a mailing list.

Advertising and cookies

This site displays advertising supplied by Google and by third-party vendors. Advertising is how a free reference site like this one stays online, and we keep it separate from the editorial content.

1. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or to other websites.
2. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
3. You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info.

Cookies set by advertising partners are controlled by those partners, not by us. Blocking or clearing cookies in your browser will usually stop personalisation; the ads themselves may still appear, but they will be less relevant. We do not sell personal information, and we do not pass the content of the tools to advertisers.

What we do not do

We do not run user accounts, we do not ask you to sign in, and we do not sell or rent personal information. We do not use the goal matcher or the constitution quiz to build an advertising profile: those tools run in your browser and their answers stay there. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13, and the site is not directed at them.

Your choices and rights

You can browse the whole site with cookies blocked. You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask for a correction, or ask us to delete it. If you have contacted us by email or through the contact form, that message is the only record we hold. To make a request, write to us through the contact page and we will respond within a reasonable period.

Changes to this policy

If the way we handle data changes — for example if we add a new analytics service or a newsletter — this page will be updated first and the change will be noted in the page’s updated date. The current version describes the site as it runs today: static pages, browser-only tools, Cloudflare Web Analytics, Google Analytics 4, a contact form, and advertising supplied by Google and third-party vendors.
